Virtual Field Trips and Collaborative Projects

The following is a list of sites for exploring for curriculum enhancement opportunities.  The data base listings allow you to subscribe to an ongoing email list of activities.  The curriculum projects provide for listings of upcoming events as well as links about programs that have already taken place.
Data base resource list:

CILC Enter in a “keyword” and “catagory”.  Under catagory I would suggest collaborations.
At the CILC website, you can also get a free membership.  The membership will provide you with email updates of virtual field trip opportunities.
TWICE To search enter in information in the “subject area”, “grade level”, or “program fee”.

  • Westward Expansion: The Building of the Transcontinental Railroad.  – A Three Part Interactive Video Conference from the Durham Museum.
    Audience: Jr. High students.  – Dates: March 18th, March 25th and April 1st.  – Time: 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
  • To help celebrate all things Chocolate, Durham will have an exciting line-up of cooking demonstrations with some of the area‚s most talented chefs and chocolatiers!
    • Colleen Cleek, Owner of The Classy Gourmet – Friday, February 13 at 1 pm – Featuring: Flourless Chocolate Cake Torte with Raspberry Reduction Sauce and Chocolate Purses
